Why
I can't stand the Chevrolet SSR:
I
don't know what GM was thinking when they created this monstrosity.
Firstly, not only is the SSR the second ugliest automobile ever
created (GM's other beauty the Aztek holds that crown) but it
also lacks performance and costs about twice as much as it shoud.
Personally, I dont understand why anybody would want to drive
one of these hideous machines, let alone buy one. Its got all
the utility of a convertible, with the exciting performance of
a truck - what's not to love about that.
The SSR's 6.0 V8 engine which produces 390 horsepower should give
this truck great acceleration, but due to the SSR's nearly 5000lb
curb weight it can only manage a 0-60 time of 7.2 seconds with
the manual gearbox. Choose the automatic tranny and you are looking
at 8 second runs from a stop to 60mph. Lastly, the SSR costs nearly
$50,000. For that money you could get a BMW 545i or a Corvette
C6 or two Subaru WRX STis. It is no wonder I have only seen two
Chevy SSRs driving around my hometown of Vancouver, BC in the
past year.

A long list of complaints about the official Pimp Mobile (Hummer
H2)
Firstly,
before any of my beloved readers get pissed off at me for dissing
the H2 and send me dozens of emails ridden with viruses, let
me point out that I am not insulting the bling-bling value of
a Hummer with 24" spinning chrome rims. However, the thought
of using it as an everyday vehicle for city driving is unintelligent
at best and downright stupid at worst.
Let me explain this really simplistically: a 6 litre V8 engine,
an over 6000 lb curb weight and crappy interior space make the
Hummer H2 a crappy buy at any price, but at over $60,000 USD
anyone dumb enough to buy one of these should contact me (I
have a nice piece of swampland down in Florida for sale). The
engine and weight ratio combine to form a truck that not only
has crappy fuel economy, but is also incredibly slow off the
line.
Then, to defend the H2 you would say, "but it can tow a
lot!". Yes, it can, but so can a GMC Yukon Denali which
is less expensive, more luxurious, more spacious, lighter and
comes with the exact same engine. Anyway, I don't want to waste
anymore of my time complaining about such a terrible truck,
I think I'll go do something more important like watch my grass
grow.
